Total Votes Campaign Statements (in no particular order): Tania Banak: I am interested in
running for the MWCSC board because I feel a sense of responsibility to
help with the transition as several excellent board members step down. I
love to dance west coast swing and want to ensure we continue to have an
opportunity to dance this delightful dance in Madison, even if key
members move away. I've been active in the club since 1999, serving on
the MWCSC board from 1999-2002, including as president from 2001-2002, and
continuing to volunteer even after I left the board. Paul Eglsaer: I never danced a step
before taking lessons through the Madison West Coast Swing Club, but the
instruction was so good and the people so friendly that I got hooked. I
think the Club is a great resource for Madison and would like to do what I
can to help keep it running smoothly and to entice more people to get
involved. Virginia L Youngs: I
enjoy being a member of the MWCSC--the club is like an extended family unit
to me. I have been a club member for almost three years. I have enjoyed
serving on the board for past two years. I served as Treasurer in calendar
year 2004 and as Promotion Contact in calendar year 2005. I have always
tried to do my best to represent our members feeling concerning our dance
events/activities. I am excited about the up coming year that will include
our second annual MadMac event. I would feel honored to serve as a board
member for another year. I would like to take this time to thank each and
everyone of our club members for all of their participation in our club
activities. I can honestly say that “Our club has the nicest people that
make our dance experiences fun and happy events.” I have had a great time. Mike Topel: I really
think I can help the club find its groove. One of my primary goals is to
automate the tasks the board performs, thus freeing the board and
volunteers from mundane tasks that prevent them from enjoying social
aspects of the club--like dancing! I bring the knowledge and experience of
a dance and customer service professional, computer programmer, graphic
designer, marketer and salesman who travels the country, enlisting the help
of and networking with other dance clubs, event directors and dance
instructors. I count every dance club in the country as personal friends
of mine, and I want to share that relationship and insight with this club.
I believe the club needs a visionary AND a technician to get the train on
the tracks. One of the first business items I'll propose is to create a
club mission, defining our club as a fun, outreaching, membership-centered
dance and party organization. With that, our club can get onto the
business of making our members THE most important part of our
organization. Steve McFarland's Rap
